The final video was pushed on all of the museum's social channels, receiving a large number of positive comments. Some members of the public even mentioned the video made them cry, which I suppose can be a measure of success.
The video helped in promoting the Father Christmas experience, ensuring that all the bookings were taken in the lead up to Christmas.
Every year, the festive magic arrives at Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery, where Father Christmas visits to meet families in his traditional museum workshop. The elves are also there to help people along the flagstones, through the archway to begin the climb up the original sweeping staircase.
In the build up to December 2023, Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery required a new promotional video for their Father Christmas experience. In 2022, the video was produced on a lower budget, with the latest version requiring a larger reach and more cinematic look and feel.
With a detailed storyboard being approved by the client and a filming day agreed, the models were lined up and the video started. Father Christmas was filmed separately to keep the magic alive with the other footage being captured later in the day. The video was created and edited within a couple of days.
